Just then my phone chimed and my notifications displayed the email with

the subject ‘Birthday Trip’

Wait…This had better not be one of your many pranks. I threatened. 

I’ve lost count of the number of pranks this man has pulled on me since we met. He had a mischievous smile as he urged me to check my email.

I quickly unlocked my phone and opened the email. I was lost for words for some seconds.

Are you for real??? I blurted out still in unbelief.

No, I’m for fake. Of course, I am for real babes. He said laughing at my reaction.

I flung into his open arms like he expected that reaction from me. He lifted me off the ground and twirled me in a hug after he kissed me- You see why I like tall men.

You’re the best, babe. I kissed him hard and pulled away to look at his handsome face (after this Odogwu act, even someone who was facially challenged would be handsome). They say beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, but in this case, the man right in front of me was truly handsome in all ramifications. We were the true definition of chocolate and caramel.

But what happened? What changed? I thought we moved the trip to November. 

My birthday was in September. The initial plan was to go on a trip two days before my birthday, but my man had bailed on us in the last week of August.

I am so sorry we couldn’t go on the trip for your birthday. I am trying to make up for it. I know you love Santorini but I would rather leave it for our honeymoon destination.
