Hey guys, how have you been coping with all the dramatic events happening so far? This is just a reminder that elections are just a few weeks away. Let’s all go out en masse to vote. This is not the time to cajole anyone into making the right choice.
If you like what you’ve been going through. Let me rephrase, if this period hasn’t shown you shege yet, just maybe…this isn’t for you (or you’re probably benefiting from the chaos). The PVC isn’t just another means of identification. Let’s use it wisely. Vote your conscience. Vote without tribalism and even if you can’t relate to whatever is happening, please vote for humanity’s sake.
There are tangible reasons not to celebrate vals day this year but don’t be that bae. The other day at work my male colleagues were jubilating over how the cash scarcity was a perfect excuse not to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Dey play.
Common guys, do we need to cajole you every Valentine’s Day? Was this not part of the package for a relationship? After ‘’doing pepper them’’ with your pyjama picture last Christmas you probably forgot that you’ll need to also show us working for Valentine’s Day. LOL. An igbo proverb says agbacha oso,a guo mile🤣🤣🤣 (Translation: After the race, the miles or distance covered is calculated.)… We wanna see the ‘’God when’’ moments, so bring it on!!!
Valentine’s Day can be a special day for you and your partner, irrespective of your financial condition. It is about spending quality time with the one that you love. Interestingly, you don’t have to break the bank to make val’s day a memorable one for you and your significant other (or friends for those who would be celebrating solo) – that’s why you have me, Cupid’s Mouthpiece to the rescue!!!

How to Celebrate Valentine’s Day at Home
For those of “us” that have decided to make Valentine’s Day “our” cup of tea, here are some Valentine’s Day ideas that you can explore, given the current situation in the country (Nigeria)- limited cash, fuel scarcity, and epileptic power supply.
Cook a romantic dinner at home
Instead of spending money on fine dining, you can prepare a romantic dinner together at home. You can take this up a notch by trying a new recipe together, setting up a candle-lit dinner with romantic soft music playing in the background.
Have a movie night
Another free Valentine’s Day idea to explore is having a movie night at home. There are several movies and series available on Netflix for you to choose from. There’s no better excuse than Valentine’s Day to snuggle under a blanket and watch a romantic movie together.
Workout together
If you already belong to a gym, working out together is a great way to celebrate Valentine’s Day without spending money. Plan a gym date to spend some extra time together. You could go for a run, do yoga or try out a new workout.
Play games
Games are a source of relaxation and build your problem-solving skills, which can help strengthen your relationship. This is definitely an option to consider if you plan to spend Valentine’s day at home. Choose games specifically for two players like scrabble, chess, card games, and even combat video games with your partner.

Write love notes to each other
Write down all the things you love and appreciate about your partner and exchange the note with them.
Go for a walk or drive
Take an evening walk together hand-in-hand, or go for a long drive, playing some of your favourite songs.
Try something new in the bedroom
This is definitely worth a try. Exploring sexual fantasies together can be a great way to celebrate Valentine’s Day at home. According to research, trying something new not only spices up your sex life, but communicating openly about your sexual needs and desires improves relationship satisfaction.
Create a spa experience at home
You don’t need to go overboard to create a spa vibe at home. All you need are some scented candles, massage oils, and a bubble bath (for those with a bathtub). You can pamper each other with some massages and a relaxing bath.
Putting the effort into making Valentine’s Day special can strengthen your bond and help you keep the spark alive in your relationship/marriage. Don’t let finances stop you from having a romantic Valentine’s Day. It’s the thought that counts and the most important thing is to spend quality time together.
I hope you found this helpful. What did I miss? You can share with us in the comment section. Until then, stay safe.

I absolutely enjoyed reading this. Makes do much sense!!!
I’m glad you did
It’s the last two for me 🤭
Stay focused my bro. Don’t loose your grip on Val. 😑
Interesting
My keynote from here – “There are tangible reasons not to celebrate vals day this year”
I was hoping you’ll teach us how to draft beautiful text messages to our lovers this year to save cost and resources. Why should I cook for her since she’s just coming from her house. We’ll watch movie if there’s light, fuel don cost and she must come with Amazon prime login for us to use.
50:50 – Stay wicked
I don’t even know what to say right now. LOL
Nicely worded as usual.
One cant go wrong with one and two unless if the guy cant cook and as was duly noted, if ones generator has fuel cos if valentine was bad for that ‘Nepa’ switch operator, that darkness is assured.
We Don old for this Valentine thing.. We would reminisce on the good old days when Nigeria was a lot better tbh.. Smile and eat oatmeal together and make good love. My humble opinion.
