Men don’t cry. Where did this emasculating lie originate from? Are men specially created with an anti-cry machine that reaches fruition and maturity from a certain age? Are men supposed to express emotions other ways than crying?
We’ve been erroneously trained and societally shaped with the mentality that men that cry are WEAK. How saddening.
On the contrary, men that cry are strong. In fact, they are the strongest kind of men. Don’t take my word for it, history says it all. The greatest men that have ever walked the face of this earth had their moments of deep emotional turmoil and expressed it by shedding tears. You still doubt? OK, let’s open the history books.
In the Bible days, there are a handful of occasions when men had to cry. Essau cried, Joseph cried, Samson, the strongest man of his time, cried. Jesus also cried when his friend Lazarus died.
In our own times, George Washington cried when he made his declaration as the president of the United States, as he watched the multitude of Americans that came out to pay their respect to him- the man that lead them from the war to freedom, and would lead them to the future.
Walter Cronkite, the famous anchorman for CBS, who had a reputation for being cool and composed broke into tears on air in November 22, 1963, when he had to announce that U.S president John F Kennedy had been shot dead.
There are more to the list. You can add them.
Men don’t just cry. A man can be whipped and lashed several times yet won’t break a tear. It takes the deepest emotional feelings to break a man into tears, and only strong men– I mean the real strong men- are emotional. Without emotions, men are only a hybrid version of robots. I call them “living robots”.
So I ask again, where did this “men don’t cry” bullshit start from? Can you vouch you’ve never had to cry before? If you are human then you probably have. I’ll like to hear what made you cry, because you may just be one of the world strongest men.
